The Trustees are responsible for running your Plan in accordance with the Trust Deed and in the best interests of you and your family. Its assets (including members’ AVC savings) are held in a fund entirely separate from those of the Company and can only be used for the benefit of members and their families.
The Trustees take expert advice in running the Plan from a range of advisers.
All of the benefits described on this site are provided from the Plan, with the exception of the State Pension, which is provided by the State.
Trustees
There are eight Trustee Directors on the Board of Dow Services Trustees UK Limited. The Company has appointed five of the Trustee Directors and Plan members have nominated the other three. The Trust Deed gives the Company the right to replace Trustee Directors.
The current Trustee Directors are:
Andrew Jones (Chair), Julie Roberts, John Case, Udipta Mukherji, Liza Adeyemi, Kevin Blackwell*, Mark Bradford* and Simon Upcott*.
*Indicates Member-Nominated Directors (MNDs) nominated by Plan members.
MNDs are appointed for four-year periods and can put themselves forward for re-election.

Data protection
The Trustee holds personal details about you that are essential for running the Plan. From 25 May 2018, new EU regulation, the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) replaced the Data Protect Act. The aims of the new regulation are:
- To give people more say in how their personal information is used; and
- To improve security by standardising the way organisations throughout the UK store and use personal information.
The Trustees and some of the Trustee’s advisers are Data controllers under the new regulations and members and dependants can view the Data Controllers’ Privacy Notices, which explain how data is processed and how the Data Controllers’ obligations are met below:

Dow UK section
The Dow UK section is a hybrid scheme, which means that it has elements of DB, CARE and DC and was for those members who were employed by the Dow Chemical Company Limited or its associated employers in 2003. The section closed to new entrants in December 2017. You can find the booklet for this section here.

Hyperlast section
The Hyperlast section is a DB scheme with a DC underpin but members are able to pay AVCs. The Hyperlast section was for those members who were employed by Hyperlast Limited. The section closed to new entrants on 31 January 2011. You can find the booklet for this section here.

Rohm and Haas section
The Rohm and Haas section is a DB scheme. The section was for those members who were employed by Rohm and Haas (UK) Limited or its associated companies in 2001. The section closed to new entrants on 30 June 2010. You can find the booklet for this section here.
